with Ellen M. Gregg
Classes
begin September 8, 2008 and
run through the week of May 11, 2009
These classes will run for 30 weeks
(with week 31 being devoted to dress rehearsals for recitals),
will feature fun in-class demos on
December 17 and December 20, and will conclude with end-of-year recitals
for family and friends!
Ellen's intent is to infuse her students with her passion for performing while
giving them basic tools to use and to enhance their own skills. Students
will
be given suggestions for making a great impression at auditions and will work on
a - or perhaps even develop
their own! - musical play in class which they will perform at the end of the school
year. They will also be taught how to read a script to find out all they
can about any role they're playing, will be offered memorizing techniques, will
learn basic stagecraft, terminology ... and much, much more!!

**Yes, this is correct. Bear in mind that
New Hampshire divides the state in two when it comes to the February vacation
week so that the North Country isn't overwhelmed. Truly. We
understand that this does not line up with all school systems, but it can't be
helped. If your child is on vacation the week of February 16 and won't be in class,
please let Miss Ellen know.

Ellen M. Gregg has
been singing and acting in front of audiences since the age of 5. The daughter
of a music educator, she learned to love musical theater at a very early age and
has vivid memories of singing the entire soundtracks to South Pacific,
The Sound of Music, Jesus Christ Superstar, etc.
from as early as age 7. In New York, she honed her skills under the tutelage of
Mark Ziegler, Susan Ward and her father, Boston Conservatory alumni James Gregg. In New Hampshire,
she continued her studies with John Bethel, Paul Amundsen, Elaine Gatchell, J.
Bruce Gatchell, Adrienne Hounsell, Edith Shipley, Michael Ingersoll, Rebecca
Bridges and Kate Parker. She
recently completed a master acting workshop under Frank Annese.
Ellen has performed in
dozens of plays - musical and otherwise. Among her all-time favorite roles
are Miss Hannigan in Annie, Melissa Gardner in A.R. Gurney's
Love Letters, Truvy Jones in Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias,
Lady Beaconsfield in Jekyll & Hyde the Musical, April Green in
Hotel Baltimore, Aunt Abby in Arsenic and Old Lace, Sister Miller in Damn Yankees
and Katisha in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado.

When she's not teaching
or performing, Ellen can be found constructing costumes, quilts, etc. in her
sewing room, at her computer writing (her play A Story of
Christmas presented at Leddy Center in December 2007), cooking
(she won an Iron Chef competition on New Year's Eve 2006!), taking
classes to further her own education and spending time with friends and family.
